Facials Q & A

What is a facial?

A facial is a noninvasive way to rejuvenate and renew your skin. Facials may involve:

  • Cleaning
  • Exfoliating
  • Hydrating
  • Smoothing
  • Improving acne

Facials help you look and feel years younger. Anti-aging facials are available for all skin types, and the team at Kamala Aesthetics choose a facial that best matches your individualized needs to maximize results.

What should I expect during a facial?

During a personalized facial session, you may receive the following to renew your skin.

Cleansing

Your aesthetician cleanses your face using wipes, sponges, or cotton pads.

Steam treatment

A warm steam to your face helps relax you, and softens whiteheads or blackheads.

Exfoliation

Exfoliation happens when your provider uses mechanical or chemical substances to rub away dead skin cells on the surface of your skin. Mechanical exfoliants have a gritty texture. Your aesthetician may use exfoliation during steam treatment.

Extractions

During the extraction portion of your facial, your aesthetician removes blackheads and whiteheads to soften your skin and improve its texture.

Facial massage

Facial massage is relaxing, stimulates facial muscles and skin, and helps ease stress and tension.

Moisturizers

As a final step during your facial, your aesthetician may apply a toner, moisturizer, or sunscreen to help hydrate your skin and make it feel smoother.

If you require a greater amount of skin rejuvenation than what a standard facial provides, you may be a good candidate for a photofacial, also known as photorejuvenation or intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment. This procedure uses pulsed light to rejuvenate your skin, making it smoother and more evenly toned. It works great for treating sun damage and other dark spots.

How often should I have a facial?

Your aesthetician lets you know how often to schedule facials to achieve optimal results and keep your skin healthy and flawless. It might be every month or every few months, depending on how long it takes your skin to regenerate.

When you’re ready for a relaxing facial that hydrates, exfoliates, moisturizes, and renews your skin to make you look years younger, call Kamala Aesthetics to book an appointment or schedule online.
